A life update.

Oh, hi! I know it's been a while but I am so glad you're here! Recently I've been going back and forth with myself when it comes to this little space of mine, but lately I've been inspired to start blogging...again. A few weeks ago I bought a domain and I think I'm really ready to give this blogging thing a real try. So what has been going on in my little world since we last spoke?

Kaden turned 9 in June and he starts 4th grade next month. I'm still in disbelief that this is his last single digit year. Seriously, where does the time go?! Gunnar just turned 3 in July and he is still as wild as ever. We're trying our hardest to get him potty trained but it's been pretty hit or miss so far. We're hoping he'll be potty trained before the summer ends. Fingers crossed. The boys have gotten so big. Much to Ryan's joy, Kaden is still obsessed with all things video games and computers. Gunnar is super into drawing. I'll have to share some of his artwork soon because it's pretty amazing how great of an artist he is.

Ryan is still loving his new job. Well, I guess it's not really new anymore. He's been there for over a year. Right now he's on an rotating schedule. Every two weeks he switches between the morning and afternoon shifts. Recently there has been talk about adding an overnight shift from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and he's really wanting to take it. Adjusting to the swing shift took some time for me to get use to and if he starts this new shift it will be an even bigger adjustment. Right now him taking an overnight shift just makes sense for us. Which is a weird thing to say, really. When he's on second shift, he leaves the house at 1:30 p.m. and doesn't get home until almost midnight. When Kaden is in school he doesn't get to see K at all during the week. With this new overnight shift, he'll be getting home just in time to take Kaden to school and he'll be home when Kaden gets home. It will be nice to have him here to help with homework and all of that fun stuff. It will all work out, I'm sure.

Life is pretty good right now. I hate to say "busy" but with Ryan's job, my job and the boys that's exactly what it is. Since we moved to Wisconsin I've learned a thing or two about scheduling. With Kaden starting school, Ryan's changing schedule and me picking up a part-time job, I've had to schedule around so many different things. I think I'm finally getting the hang of how I manage my time and having everyone on the same page. It's crazy to think that we've lived in Wisconsin for a year already. This past year has been so unbelievably stressful but things are finally smoothing out for us.

We're in our last month of summer vacation and we're trying to soak up as much sun as possible. I can't believe how fast summer break has gone by. This will be Kaden's second year in public school and he is so excited for this upcoming school year. He's really hoping that he gets to be in the same class with his best friend. As much as he says he isn't ready for school to start, he's excited about being a 4th grader. We're excited to end our summer with my mom visiting from New Mexico. Here's to hoping I can convince her to move here someday!

So this is a good start, I think. There's still so much to say and I have a list a mile long of blog topics I want to share. My hope is that this new found inspiration jump starts me back into blogging regularly. I hope you decide to stick around and see what's to come!
